Insurance & safety
CoHire operates as an online rental marketplace and application service provider. This page explains the business insurance that supports the platform itself - including how we handle your account and personal data - and what that insurance does not replace for community rentals.
What our platform insurance covers
CoHire holds business insurance for our technology and platform operations, including:
- Professional indemnity - up to AUD $1,000,000 per claim and AUD $2,000,000 in total during the policy period for claims arising from the professional services we provide as an application service provider and software platform. This is the cover most relevant to platform operations, account services, and how we run the service for you.
- Public and products liability - up to AUD $20,000,000 per occurrence for liability connected with CoHire's business as the platform operator.
Your data and account
We collect and use personal data only to run the marketplace, process bookings and payments, communicate with you, and keep the service secure. Our Privacy policy explains what we collect, who we share it with, and your rights.
Platform professional indemnity insurance sits alongside our technical and organisational safeguards. It is business insurance for CoHire's operations - not a personal data guarantee or a promise that every claim will be accepted. If you have a privacy question or request, contact us through Contact us.
What this insurance does not cover
This is CoHire's own business insurance. It does not insure items you list or rent through the marketplace, and it is not a substitute for insurance you may need as a lender or renter.
For limited, discretionary support when a renter cannot be charged after a qualifying incident, see our Lender platform support page. That program is separate and is not general insurance.
Full rules for bookings, liability, and disputes are in our Terms & conditions.
Safety on the platform
We support a safer rental experience through account checks, clear booking records, reporting options, and practical dispute support when issues arise. Read more in our trust and safety overview.
